The terms, written so you can actually read them

How a booking is confirmed
A booking exists when we have sent you a written confirmation on WhatsApp or email and, for multi-day tours, when the advance has reached our account. A phone conversation or a quote on its own is not a booking; quotes hold for 72 hours and then need to be reissued because availability changes. The confirmation states the dates, pickup point and time, vehicle class, the fare and how it was calculated, what is included and excluded, the advance paid and the balance due. Read it when it arrives. If anything in it differs from what we discussed, reply the same day and we will correct and reissue it. The confirmation, not this page, is the document that governs your particular trip, and the driver carries a copy of it.
Advance and payment
Local day trips and single transfers are paid on arrival, in cash or by UPI to the driver, against the fare printed on your confirmation. Multi-day and outstation tours require a 20 per cent advance by UPI or bank transfer to confirm, with the balance paid on the last day of the tour, again against the confirmation. Drivers do not collect any amount other than the balance shown, and they do not accept payment for extra kilometres or hours without a message from the office confirming the figure. If you extend the tour on the road, ask the driver to call the office; we will send a revised confirmation before any extra amount is due. We do not accept card payments at present.
What the fare includes and excludes
Every fare includes the vehicle, driver, fuel, tolls, parking charges, state permits, and the driver’s own food and accommodation on overnight tours. You will not be asked to pay for the driver’s room or meals, and if a driver asks, tell the office. The fare excludes your hotels, all entry and ferry tickets, your meals, guide fees, camera charges at monuments and any optional activity you add on the day. Current per-kilometre and per-day rates are on the vehicles page; the rate on your confirmation is the one that applies to your trip even if the website changes afterwards. GST, where applicable, is stated separately on the confirmation.
Daily minimum on outstation tours
Outstation and multi-day tours are charged on a minimum of 250 km per calendar day, or the actual distance if higher, multiplied by the per-kilometre rate for the vehicle class. The kilometres are counted from our garage in Kanyakumari and back to it, not from your pickup point, because the car has to travel to you and return. The minimum exists because a car committed to a three-day tour cannot earn anywhere else, even on a day when you only drive 60 km around Munnar. If your plan has a rest day in one town, tell us and we will price the day as a local hire where the driver can return to base. Local trips within the district are charged by the day package instead, with 80 km and 8 hours included, and extra kilometres at the printed rate. Details by route are on the taxi pages.
Night allowance and waiting charges
A driver night allowance of ₹300 per night applies on any tour where the driver sleeps away from Kanyakumari; it appears as a separate line on the confirmation and covers his food and stay. Night driving between 10 pm and 6 am on local hires carries a ₹300 supplement to compensate the driver for the hours; station and airport pickups at those times already include it in the printed transfer fare. Waiting is free for the first 30 minutes at a station or airport pickup and for the itinerary stops on a local day. Beyond that, waiting is charged at ₹100 per half hour for a sedan and ₹150 for an Innova or Tempo Traveller, and only when the office has confirmed the time with you on the day. Waiting caused by a delayed train or flight that you told us about is never charged.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel any booking by WhatsApp or email to the office; the time we receive the message is the time that counts. For multi-day tours, cancelling 15 or more days before the start date returns the full advance. Cancelling between 7 and 14 days before returns 50 per cent of the advance. Cancelling between 3 and 6 days before returns 25 per cent. Cancelling within 48 hours of the start, or not appearing at pickup, forfeits the advance. Local day trips and transfers carry no advance and no charge if cancelled before 8 pm the previous evening; a same-day cancellation after the car has left the garage is charged at ₹500 to cover the driver and fuel. Refunds are sent to the account the advance came from within seven working days. If we cancel for any reason other than those in the force majeure section below, you receive the full advance back plus, at your choice, a ₹500 credit against a future booking.
Vehicle substitution
Your confirmation names a vehicle class, not a specific car or registration. If the intended vehicle is unavailable on the day through breakdown, accident or a service that has run over, we will supply another vehicle of the same class or a higher one at no extra charge. We will not downgrade you without your agreement; if only a smaller vehicle is available and you accept it, the fare is reduced to that class’s rate. If a vehicle fails during a tour, we send a replacement from Kanyakumari or arrange a local vehicle at our cost, and the time lost is not charged. The photographs on the vehicles page show the class of vehicle; the exact model year and colour may differ.
Delays, road closures and force majeure
This district takes two monsoons and the hill roads to Thirparappu, Pechiparai and the Kerala stations close without much notice when the culverts flood or a slope comes down. Ferries to the rocks stop in rough sea. Temples and Padmanabhapuram Palace close on days that are not always published in advance, and bandhs and processions block roads. We are not liable for the cost or disappointment of a place that cannot be reached or is closed on the day, but the driver and the office will suggest an alternative within the same kilometres at no extra fare, and if the day is cut short by a closure we will reduce the charge to the kilometres actually driven above the daily minimum. Where an event outside anyone’s control, including cyclone warnings, floods, strikes or government orders, makes the whole tour impossible, we refund the advance in full less any hotel or permit cost already paid on your behalf, and we tell you what that cost was. Read the best time to visit guide before booking a wet-season trip.
The no-commission pledge and complaints
We promise, as a term of every booking, that no driver will take you to any shop, hotel, restaurant or attraction that is not on your itinerary unless you have asked for it, and that neither the driver nor the company receives any payment from any establishment you visit. If a driver breaks this, the pledge has been broken and you are entitled to a refund of that day’s fare, in addition to whatever action we take with the driver. Complaints of any kind go to the office, not to the driver, by phone, WhatsApp or email. We acknowledge within 24 hours, speak to the driver the same day, and settle money disputes within 48 hours. If you are not satisfied with our answer, write to the proprietor at the office address and we will reply in writing within seven days. These terms are governed by Indian law, and any dispute falls under the courts of Kanniyakumari district, Tamil Nadu.
