What we collect, why, and how to have it removed

What we collect when you enquire
When you use the enquiry form on this site or message us on WhatsApp, we receive whatever you send: normally your name, phone number, travel dates, pickup location, group size and the places you want to visit. If we collect you from a station or airport we may also ask for a train or flight number. If you email us we hold your email address and the thread. We do not ask for identity documents, dates of birth or payment card details. Advances are paid by UPI or bank transfer, and the bank’s own reference is all we see. We do not collect anything from you that is not needed to quote and run the trip.
Why we need it
Your phone number and name are used to send the quote, the confirmation and the driver’s details, and to reach you on the day. Travel dates, pickup point and group size determine the vehicle and the fare. The train or flight number lets the driver check for delays rather than wait blindly. We may also use your number to ask, once, how the trip went, and to send you a Google review link if you agreed to that at drop-off. We do not use your details for marketing lists, we do not send seasonal offers unless you have asked for them, and we do not build profiles of guests.
WhatsApp Business
Our bookings line runs on WhatsApp Business. Messages between you and us are end-to-end encrypted in transit by WhatsApp, and the chat history sits on our office handset and in that handset’s backup. WhatsApp itself, owned by Meta, processes your number and message metadata under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Please do not send scanned identity documents or card details over WhatsApp; we will not ask for them and we delete them if they arrive. If you would rather not use WhatsApp at all, the phone line and email work for every stage of a booking.
Google Analytics and site measurement
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits, see which pages are read and understand roughly where visitors come from. Google sets cookies for this and receives your truncated IP address, browser type and the pages you view. We have IP anonymisation enabled and we do not link analytics data to enquiries or names. The data helps us decide which guides to write next; it is not used to target advertising at you. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking third-party cookies, and the site works fully without them.
Cookies
The site sets a small number of cookies. Google Analytics cookies, described above, measure traffic. A session cookie may remember a form you have partly filled in so that it survives a page reload. We do not set advertising or retargeting cookies, and we do not allow third parties other than Google Analytics to set cookies through this site. You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time; the only effect is that a half-completed enquiry form may not be remembered.
How long we keep your details
Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted from our WhatsApp and email after six months. Booking records, meaning your name, number, dates, vehicle and fare, are kept for three years because that is what our accountant and the tax rules require for invoices and advances, and because guests often rebook and ask what they paid last time. Complaint records are kept for three years alongside the booking. Analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months under our settings. Chat history on the office handset is cleared on the same six-month and three-year cycle.
Sharing with drivers and others
On the day before your trip we give the assigned driver your name, phone number, pickup point, times and itinerary. That is the only routine sharing. Drivers are instructed to delete the details from their phones after the trip, and they are not permitted to contact you afterwards for their own bookings. We do not sell or pass your details to hotels, shops, other operators or marketing companies, which follows directly from the no-commission pledge on our about page. We would disclose details to the police or a court only if legally required, and we would tell you if we had done so where the law allows.
Your rights, deletion and how to contact us
You can ask at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Send the request to the office by WhatsApp or email at the details on the contact page, from the number or address we hold, and we will confirm within seven days. Deletion is immediate for enquiries and chat history. For completed bookings we will remove your name and number but keep the anonymised fare and date record for the three-year accounting period. If you believe we have mishandled your information, write to the proprietor at the office address, and you may also complain to the relevant data protection authority under Indian law.
